Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Facts
- The Carolina Hurricanes were originally established as the Hartford Whalers in 1972. The team relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1997 and became the Carolina Hurricanes.
- The Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup once in their history, during the 2005-2006 season. They defeated the Edmonton Oilers in seven games to capture the championship.
- The team’s colors are red, black, and white. Their logo features a swirling hurricane warning flag.
