New York Islanders Hockey Facts

  1. The New York Islanders joined the NHL as an expansion team in 1972. They were one of two teams added to the league that year, along with the Atlanta Flames (now the Calgary Flames).
  2. The Islanders won the Stanley Cup four consecutive times from 1980 to 1983. This achievement is often referred to as the “Dynasty Era” and is considered one of the greatest dynasties in NHL history.
